Zoom In button
Enlarges the objects on the canvas.
Zoom Out button
Makes the objects on the canvas smaller.
Drop-Down button

Note button
Adds a text box to the diagram on the canvas, in which you can type notes or comments. The text box looks like a yellow note sticker to make it more prominent.
Text button
Adds a text box to the diagram on the canvas, in which you can type labels or descriptions. Unlike the note or note attachment text box, this text box does not have a background or frame in a different color.
Note Attachment button
Adds a text box to the diagram on the canvas, in which you can type notes or comments. A thin line connects the text box to a previously selected object in the diagram. After clicking the icon, you can select the object, for example a table, and, while holding down the mouse button, drag a line anywhere on the canvas. When you release the mouse button, the text box appears. The text box looks like a yellow note sticker to make it more prominent.
Note: To create a line break in the text boxes of notes (Note icon), texts (Text icon), and note attachments (Note Attachment icon), you must press CTRL+ENTER, not just the ENTER key.
Add Tables button
Adds a table to the data mart on the canvas. You can use the following methods to add a table:
  • Click the table icon once, then click the white background of the canvas
  • Drag and drop the table icon on the canvas
  • Double-click the table icon
Add 1:n reference button
Creates a 1:n reference between tables on the canvas. You can use the following methods to add a reference:
  • Click the reference icon on the palette to activate the reference tool
  • Click the mouse button on the parent table of the new reference (usually the dimension table of a join), hold the mouse button down, and drag the mouse to the child table of the reference (usually the fact table of a join), then release the mouse button over the child table. The Add Reference wizard opens.
Add n:m reference button.
