Deploying an Informix pattern by using IBM Workload Deployer

IBM® Workload Deployer provides a framework to deploy IBM Informix® Enterprise Hypervisor Edition for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server or IBM Informix Enterprise Hypervisor Edition for AIX® virtual system patterns into a virtual environment.

Before you can deploy a virtual system pattern:
  • A virtual-system pattern or the components necessary to build a virtual-system pattern must be in your deployer's catalog.
  • You must accept necessary license agreements.
  1. Follow the instructions in the IBM Workload Deployer information center at http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/worlodep/v3r1m0/index.jsp to begin the deployment process.
  2. During the deployment process, you must set the properties of the Informix Server part. The Informix Server part adds a configuration parameter that prompts you for an Informix password during deployment.
  3. Follow the instructions in the IBM Workload Deployer information center at http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/worlodep/v3r1m0/index.jsp to complete the deployment process. Deploying the Informix pattern creates a virtual machine where Informix is installed.
After you finish deploying the HCL Informix instance, you are ready to connect to it.
