Connecting to the deployed HCL Informix instance or a virtual HCL Informix database

After you deploy a pattern that contains an Informix® part, you can connect to any created virtual-host instances by using HCL Informix client tools.

You must deploy an IBM® Informix Enterprise Hypervisor Edition virtual system instance into the virtual environment before you can connect to it.

To connect to the virtual-machine, you must use Secure Shell network protocol. To connect to virtual database instance, you can use either the client tools that are installed on the virtual machine or the client tools from the remote host.

In your deployer, browse to the virtual system instance's virtual machine description, and then locate the IP address of the virtual machine's network interface.
Connect to the virtual machine or to any created database instances:
- Use HCL Informix client tools to connect to a database instance on the virtual machine. The remote host where the client tools are running must have connectivity to the virtual machine.
- Open a command-line window and include the virtual machine's IP address in your ssh connection command, and then use the virtualized HCL Informix client tools included with Informix Enterprise Hypervisor Edition to connect to a database instance on the virtual machine.
