Read-only group restrictions

Read-only groups in the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix® have the following restrictions:
  • Health Center:
    • Can view alerts, but cannot modify which alerts are displayed.
    • Can run the Health Advisor on demand on the current profile by using the Informix Health Advisor Plug-in for OAT. Can load a profile, but cannot add or delete profiles. Can review the alarms for a profile, but cannot enable, disable, or modify the alarms. Cannot access the Schedule page or the Notification page. The Health Advisor plug-in requires Informix 11.50.C7 or later.
  • Logs: No restrictions.
  • Task Scheduler: Cannot add, modify, or delete Scheduler tasks.
  • Space Administration
    • Can view storage space and storage usage information, but cannot add, modify, or drop spaces, or chunks.
    • Cannot add, modify, or drop storage pool entries. For the storage pool, OAT requires HCL Informix version 11.70.
    • Cannot access the Admin page or Recovery Policies page from the Recovery Logs pages.
    • Can view space optimization information, but cannot compress, repack, or shrink tables, indexes, or fragments, or uncompress tables or fragments. Cannot update the compression estimates. To compress indexes, OAT requires Informix 12.10.
    • Cannot defragment tables, fragments, or indexes. For the defragment action, OAT requires Informix 11.70 or later.
  • Server Administration
    • Can view, but not update configuration parameters for the onconfig file from the Configuration page.
    • Can view, but not modify user privileges for the server.
    • Can view, but not modify internal users. For internal users, OAT requires Informix version 11.70.
    • Cannot perform system validation.
    • Can view, but not add or delete virtual processors (VPs).
    • Can view Auto Update Statistics (AUS) pages, but cannot modify the related Scheduler tasks, refresh evaluations, or cleanup previous executions. Cannot configure AUS.
    • Can view trusted contexts, but not create, modify, delete, enable, or disable them. For trusted contexts, OAT requires Informix 11.70.
  • Performance Analysis
    • Can view performance reports and trace information, but cannot turn on or turn off SQL TRACE, or optimize SQL statements.
    • Can view, but cannot stop user sessions.
  • SQL ToolBox
    • Cannot access the SQL Editor (only by the master DBA account).
    • Cannot browse tables by using the Schema Browser.
    • Cannot access Query by Example.
  • Replication
    • Can view clusters, but cannot find new clusters, stop or start remote servers, or add SDS servers for high availability clusters from the Clusters pages.
    • Can view grids by using the HCL Informix Replication Plug-in for OpenAdmin Tool (OAT), but cannot create or modify a grid. For the grid, OAT requires Informix 11.70.
    • Can view domain, node, and replication details by using the Replication plug-in, but cannot perform administration commands.
    • Can view connection units, service level agreements (SLAs), and failover configurations in the Connection Manager by using the Replication plug-in, but cannot perform administrative actions. For the Connection Manager, the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix requires Informix 11.70.xC3 and the Connection Manager that is packaged with Informix 11.70.xC3 or with HCL Informix Client Software Development Kit (Client SDK) 3.70.xC3
  • Schema Manager: Can view databases, tables, and related objects by using the Informix Schema Manager Plug-in for OAT, but cannot create, modify, or delete these objects. Cannot load or unload data.
