Dropping a space

Drop a dbspace, temporary dbspace, blobspace, or sbspace.

When you drop a space, you can select the option to return the freed space to the storage pool. For the storage pool, HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix® requires HCL Informix version 11.70.

To drop a space:

  1. On the OAT menu, click Space Administration > Storage.
  2. Expand the Spaces panel.
  3. On the Spaces page, select the space.
  4. Click Drop.
