Performing a backup on demand

Submit a task to back up the storage spaces for a database server immediately.

Prerequisite: For this action, the OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix® requires HCL Informix 11.70.xC2.

When you configure backups in OAT, the storage spaces are backed up automatically based on the schedule that you set. You can also perform a backup on demand that uses the backup configuration in OAT.

To perform a backup on demand:

  1. On the OAT menu, click Space Administration > Backup.
  2. Click the Administration tab.
  3. In the row of the backup that you want to perform, click Backup.
