Monitoring the buffer pool

View a graph of the percentage of cached pages in the buffer pool for the databases on the current database server.

Prerequisite: To display the graphs, the OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix® requires HCL Informix 11.70.xC4 or later.

To monitor the buffer pool:

  1. On the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix, click Performance Analysis > System Reports.
  2. Click the Graphs tab.
  3. In the Object type list, select Buffer pool.

This type of graph is also called a heat map or a treemap. The graphs are created by using the IBM® ILOG Elixir treemap control.
