Warehouse Accelerator
Use this page to manage the accelerators that are associated with the database server. View the status of accelerator servers, create and drop accelerators, and view the data marts associated with an accelerator.
You can improve the performance of data warehouse queries by using the IBM® Informix® Warehouse Accelerator. The Informix Warehouse Accelerator processes data warehouse queries more quickly than the database server.
An accelerator server is an installation of Informix Warehouse Accelerator. The accelerator server processes queries that are run on a data warehouse; that is, a dimensional database that has a star or snowflake schema. The accelerator server and the database server work together to determine the most efficient way to manage a query workload.
An accelerator contains the information for the connection between the accelerator server and the database server and for the data marts associated with that connection. The accelerator server has one or more accelerators.
- Status
- The status of the accelerator server host.
- Fully operational
- The host is online and operational.
- Not reachable
- No information about the host is available to the current database server. Verify that the accelerator server is online.
- Coordinator Nodes
- The coordinator node manages the requests from the database server such as loading data and running queries.
- Worker Nodes
- The worker nodes process the queries.
- Data Marts
- Data marts contain a subset of the tables in a data warehouse database that are required to respond to the warehouse queries. Data marts can also contain a subset of the columns in a table. A data mart is loaded with a snapshot of the data from the database. A data mart is a database object that is associated with a specific accelerator. To view the data marts associated with an accelerator, click the accelerator in the list. To view and manage the data marts for a database, go to the page.
