Online Message Log Rotation
Use this page to configure automatic rotation of the online message log.
Prerequisite: For
this action, the OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix® requires IBM®
Informix 11.70.xC3
or later.
You can control the size of the online message log file by configuring automatic log rotation. When the online message log rotates, the database server switches to a new online message log file and increments the ID numbers for the previous log files by one. When the maximum number of log files is reached, the log file with the highest ID is deleted.
By default, the online message log is enabled and configured to rotate at 3 a.m., every 30 days with a maximum of 12 log files.
