Chunks
Use this page to review information about chunks and to extend, add, modify, or drop a chunk.
- Space fragmentation of chunk
- Displays the fragmentation of the selected chunk. The colors indicate how the space is used by tables and indexes, according to the number of extents that they have. A chunk that contains tables or indexes with more than one extent is considered fragmented. Fragmentation degrades performance when a table or index is accessed by the server.
- Non-fragmented
- The space in the chunk that is used by tables and indexes with one extent and by logical and physical logs.
- n - n
- The space in the chunk that is used by tables and indexes with the indicated number of extents. For example, 2 - 8 indicates the space that is used by tables and indexes with 2 to 8 extents.
- Free space
- The amount of free space in the chunk.
