Informix Replication Plug-in for OAT

The HCL Informix® Replication Plug-in for OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) provides a graphical interface for setting up, monitoring, and administering Enterprise Replication (ER). You can also administer grids of interconnected replication servers.

Prerequisites: HCL Informix 11.50.xC4 or later is required for the Replication plug-in. For the Connection Manager, the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix requires Informix 11.70.xC3 and the Connection Manager that is packaged with Informix 11.70.xC3 or with HCL Informix Client Software Development Kit (Client SDK) 3.70.xC3

With the Replication plug-in, you can monitor ER servers and domains:

  • View a topology of the ER domain and all known nodes.
  • View summary and detailed information about nodes in the domain.
  • View detailed information about replicates and replicate sets in the domain.
  • Set alert thresholds for the domain.

You can complete ER administrative tasks:

  • Define and modify ER servers, replicates, and replicate sets.
  • Use templates to set up ER.
  • Manage the state of servers, replicate sets, and replicates.
  • Resynchronize data among replication servers.
  • Change the ER configuration parameters for a server.
You can create and administer grids of interconnected replication servers in a domain:
  • View information about the grids in a domain.
  • Create a grid, and enable source servers and users to run grid commands.
  • Modify a grid to add servers, enable or disable source servers, or authorize additional users.
  • Review the status of grid commands and rerun grid commands that fail.
  • Route client connections to servers in the grid based on the quality of replicated data by configuring service level agreements (SLAs) for a Connection Manager.

You can define a Connection Manager to manage client connection requests for a combination of clusters, grids, replication sets, and server sets. You can add connection units to a Connection Manager, start and stop a Connection Manager, and create service level agreements (SLAs).
