Monitoring the send queue for a node

Monitor statistics about the send queue at the current node in an Enterprise Replication (ER) domain and about the target nodes and replicates for which the current node is a source of replicated transactions.

ER collects information from the logical logs and places the data to be transferred in the send queue. To monitor the send queue, on the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, click Replication > Node Details > Send Queue.

The Send Queue page displays statistics about the transactions in the send queue. It provides information about the storage space, the transactions sent to target nodes, and the memory required for transactions in the send queue. It also provides information about the target nodes and replicates for which the current node is a source of replicated transactions.

  • To determine how many transactions are in the queue and if they are being stored, review the Transactions in Queue, the Transactions in Memory, and the Transactions Spooled fields.
  • To determine whether transactions are being applied at the target node, review the Capture Log Position field. Compare it to the Last Data Acknowledged field, which indicates the logical log position of the last transaction that was applied at the target node.
  • To determine whether any of the target nodes are not applying transactions, review the Suspended Nodes field. Also click the Target Node tab to review the connection state of each related target node.
  • To view the state of the target nodes to which the current node replicates data, click the Target Nodes tab.
  • To view the replicates for the current node, click the Replicates tab.
