Monitoring network I/O for an Enterprise Replication node

Monitor a summary of network I/O for the current node in an Enterprise Replication (ER) domain. Review detailed information about the current node and its related nodes.

To check the network activity for the current node, on the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, click Replication > Node Details > Summary. On the Summary page, the Network section displays the following information:

  • The number of connected nodes
  • The number of messages sent by the current node
  • The number of messages received by the current node
  • The throughput rate at the current node
  • The number of messages that were not sent because of connection or other problems

To check the network status of the current node and related nodes, on the OAT menu, click Replication > Node Details > Network. The Network page displays information about the network activity with peer nodes that have sent messages to or received messages from the current node. Names of peer nodes are listed as group names as defined in the sqlhosts file.

  • To determine the recent network activity at the current node, review the Network Details graph, which shows the number of messages over time. Click the clock icon to view or change the refresh rate, which ranges from 0 seconds through 60 seconds.
  • To determine the connection state of a peer node, review the State column.
  • To determine the network interface (NIF) state of a peer node, review the Connection column.
