Starting a replicate set

Change the state of all the replicates in a replicate set to active.

When a replicate is active, Enterprise Replication (ER) captures data from the logical log on the source server and transmits it to the active participants on the target servers.

To start a replicate set:

  1. On the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, expand Replication, and then click Replicates.
  2. Click the Replicate Sets tab.
  3. Click the replicate set in the table. To view a list of the replicates in the set, expand the replicate set name.
  4. On the Actions menu, click Start Replicate Set.
  5. On the Start Replicate Set page, select the participants to start.
    • To start all the participants in the replicate set, select the All Participants check box.
    • To start specific participants, select the check box for each participant that you want to start. Participants are specified by database server.
  6. To perform an initial synchronization for the replicates that you are starting, complete these steps:
    1. Select the Synchronize data check box.
    2. Select the data source server for synchronization from the list of servers.
    3. Specify how to handle rows on the target server that are not present on the data source server.
      • Delete: Delete the extra rows from the target server.
      • Keep: Keep the extra rows on the target server.
      • Merge: Keep the extra rows on the target servers and replicate them to the source server.
  7. To start the replicate set, click OK.
