Suspending a replicate set

Suspend all the replicates in a replicate set.

When a replicate is in a suspend state, Enterprise Replication captures and accumulates changes to the source database, but does not transmit the captured data to the target database.

Important: When a replicate set is suspended, Enterprise Replication holds the replicated data in the send queue until the set is resumed. If a large amount of data is generated for the replicates in the set while it is suspended, the send queue space can fill, causing data to be lost. Enterprise Replication does not synchronize transactions if a replicate in a replicate set is suspended. For example, a transaction that updates tables X and Y will be split if replication for table X is suspended.

To suspend a replicate set:

  1. On the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, expand Replication, and then click Replicates.
  2. Click the Replicate Sets tab.
  3. Click the replicate set in the table. To view a list of the replicates in the set, expand the replicate set name.
  4. On the Actions menu, click Suspend Replicate Set. On the Suspend Replicate Set page, the list displays the participants in the replicate set, specified by database server. All the participants are selected because suspending a replicate causes all participants to enter the suspend state.
  5. To suspend the replicate set, click OK.
