Run a consistency check to compare the data between a reference
server and one or more target servers in a replicate set, generate
a report that describes any inconsistencies, and repair the inconsistent
rows so that they match the rows on the reference server.
To check and repair a replicate set:
- On the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, expand Replication, and then
click Replicates.
- Click the Replicate Sets tab.
- Click the replicate set in the table. To view
the replicates in the set, expand the replicate set name.
- On the Actions menu, click Check
or Sync Replicate Set.
- Enter a name to identify the task so that you can monitor
it on the Task Status page.
- Select Check and Repair.
- Optional: For a replicate set
in which all the replicates use the time stamp or delete wins conflict
resolution rule, select the option to repair inconsistencies based
on the latest time stamp. This option requires HCL Informix version 11.70.
- For Frequency, specify when to perform
the action. The default is Immediately,
when you click Finish.
- Optional: Select the option to limit the number
of rows to check by time period.
- Select a Reference server to use
as the reference copy of the data.
- Specify how to handle rows on the target servers that are
not on the reference server. The default is Delete:
Remove the extra rows from the target servers.
- Specify how to handle triggers at the target servers while
repairing the data. The default is Off:
Do not fire triggers at target servers during synchronization.
- Specify how to handle disabled replication servers while
repairing the data. The default is Do not enable
replication.
- Specify the number of processes to use. For
best performance, choose the maximum number of processes. This number
is either the number of available virtual processors or the number
of replicates in the replicate set, whichever is smaller.
- Specify the target servers to check and repair.
To
monitor the progress of the task and to see the consistency report,
click the Task Status tab.
