Adding and deleting participants

Modify a replicate to add or delete participants.

Prerequisite: With the Modify Replicate action, you can modify a strict master replicate and its participants. A master replicate verifies that replicated tables on different servers have consistent column data types. A strict master replicate also verifies that the replicated tables have identical column names.

To add or remove participants:

On the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, expand Replication, and then click Replicates.
Click the Replicates tab.
On the Actions menu, click Modify Replicate.
The list displays the server groups in the domain with the participants in bold.
Optional: To automatically create tables on the target server that exist on the master replicate server but not on the target server, select Create missing tables on target servers.
Tables that will be created are displayed in italics in the list.
To add a participant:
1. In the list, expand the server group and the database to display the table name.
2. Click the table name to select it as a participant. When a table is selected it is bold.
3. Specify the participant type: primary or receive-only. The default is primary: the participant both sends and receives data. To change the option, click the icon.
4. Specify which privileges are used to apply the replicated data. The default is table owner. To change the option, click the icon.
To delete a participant:
1. In the list, expand the server group and the database to display the table name.
2. Click the table name to clear the selection.
  When you delete a participant, you stop replicating data to that table on that server group.
To modify the replicate, click Finish.
The options that you selected and the results of the action are displayed.
