Enabling ATS or RIS file generation on an ER server

Modify an Enterprise Replication (ER) server to enable Aborted Transaction Spooling (ATS) or Row Information Spooling (RIS).

If the directory for the ATS or for the RIS files is set to null for a server, those files are not generated. You can enable ATS or RIS file generation by modifying the server.

To enable ATS or RIS file generation on an ER server:

  1. On the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, click Replication > ER Domain.
  2. On the Routing Topology page or the Server List page, select the server.
  3. On the Actions menu, click Modify Server.
  4. To enable ATS file generation:
    • Select Generate the ATS files in this directory, and enter the complete path for an existing directory in which to store the ATS files.
    • Select Generate the ATS files in the temporary directory. The ATS files are stored in the /tmp directory on UNIX systems and in the %INFORMIXDIR%\tmp directory on Windows systems.
  5. To enable RIS file generation:
    • Select Generate the RIS files in this directory, and enter the complete path for an existing directory in which to store the RIS files.
    • Select Generate the RIS files in the temporary directory. The RIS files are stored inn the /tmp directory on UNIX systems and in the %INFORMIXDIR%\tmp directory on Windows systems.
  6. Specify the format for the ATS and RIS files:
    • To generate text files that ER can process during a repair operation, select Text.
    • To generate XML files that you can use if you write your own custom repair scripts, select XML.
    • To generate text files and XML files, select Both.
  7. Click Save.

The options that you selected and the results of the action are displayed.

You can activate ATS and RIS file generation for a replicate on the Replicates page with the Modify Replicate action.
