Retaining or removing deleted rows

Modify a replicate to retain or remove deleted rows on target servers.

Prerequisite: With the Modify Replicate action, you can modify a strict master replicate and its participants. A master replicate verifies that replicated tables on different servers have consistent column data types. A strict master replicate also verifies that the replicated tables have identical column names.

By default, deleted rows are removed from all nodes in the Enterprise Replication (ER) domain. You can specify that deleted rows are retained on target severs if they are deleted on other nodes in the ER domain.

To specify whether to retain or remove deleted rows:

  1. On the menu of the HCL OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix®, expand Replication, and then click Replicates.
  2. Click the Replicates tab.
  3. On the Actions menu, click Modify Replicate.

The list displays the server groups in the domain with the participants in bold.

  4. Click Next.
  5. Specify whether to retain deleted rows:
    • To retain deleted rows on target servers if they are deleted on other nodes in the ER domain, select Retain deleted rows. You cannot use this option if you specify delete wins as the conflict resolution rule.
    • To remove deleted rows from all nodes in the domain, clear this option.
  6. To modify the replicate, click Finish.

The options that you selected and the results of the action are displayed.
