Modify a Connection Unit: Cluster
Use this wizard to change the failover configuration for a cluster.
A connection unit is a collection of database servers in a grid, a high-availability cluster, a replicate set, or a server set. A Connection Manager provides load balancing and directs client connection requests to the appropriate server in a connection unit based on service level agreements (SLA). A single Connection Manager can manage multiple connection units.
A failover configuration specifies the secondary server that takes over the role of the primary server if the primary server fails. For example, HDR+server1 indicates that if the primary server is not available, the Connection Manager attempts to convert any HDR server to the primary server. If no HDR servers are available, the Connection Manager attempts to convert server1 to the primary server.
