Create a Demo Database
Use this page to create the demonstration database, stores_demo, which contains a relational schema and sample data for a fictitious business.
Prerequisite: To
create a database, the OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) for Informix® requires IBM®
Informix 11.70.xC2
or later.
- Database name
- Accept the default name or enter a name that is unique among the names of databases of the database server. The name must follow the guidelines of SQL syntax for an identifier.
- Dbspace
- Specify the dbspace to store the data. The default is the root dbspace.
- Transaction logging (unbuffered)
- Select this option to write the records in the logical-log file to disk during the commit process. These records can be recovered in the event of a failure. Unbuffered transaction logging or no logging are the options for the demonstration database. Other databases also have the options of buffered and ANSI-compliant logging.
- Create time series data
- Select this option to include sample time series data in the demonstration database. You can explore the time series functions on the page.
