Handling transactions

For databases that use logging, a client LIBMI application specifies the start and end of each transaction. For these databases, an SQL statement is always part of a transaction. The type of transaction that the SQL statement is part of is based on the type of database and whether it uses transaction logging, as Table 1 shows.
