Prerequisite tasks

Before you edit and compile your DataBlade module code, complete these tasks:

  1. Write functional and design specifications that comply with HCL Informix® coding standards. See Programming guidelines, for more information.
  2. Create your DataBlade module in BladeSmith. See Create DataBlade module objects for instructions.
  3. Generate source code and SQL files in BladeSmith. See Generate files for instructions.
Important: You must use the J/Foundation option for HCL Informix to enable services that use Java™. For more information about J/Foundation, see the HCL J/Foundation Developer's Guide.
