Reverting from Informix Version 14.10

After preparing to revert, run the reversion utility and prepare to use the original database server.

Prerequisite: Complete the steps in Preparing to revert. Preparation includes determining if reversion is possible and preparing your database for reversion.

Review and complete all tasks that apply:

  1. Run the reversion utility.
  2. Restore original configuration parameters.
  3. Restore original environment variables.
  4. Remove any Communications Support Module settings.
  5. Recompile Java user-defined routines.
  6. Reinstall and start the earlier database server.
  7. Optionally update statistics on your tables after reverting.
  8. Verify the integrity of the reverted data.
  9. Back up the database server after reversion.
  10. Return the database server to online mode.
  11. If you use high-availability clusters, perform additional tasks that are described in Reverting clusters.

After reversion to Informix Version 12 or earlier, the database server automatically drops the sysadmin database.

Attention: When you revert to a previous version of the database server, do not reinitialize the database server by using the -i command-line parameter. Using the -i parameter for reversion would reinitialize the root dbspace, which would destroy your databases.
