Installing the Informix SNMP agent

If you install the Microsoft SNMP Extendible master agent after you install the HCL Informix® database server, the Informix installation procedure cannot create INFXSNMP. To correct this problem, run a program called inssnmp to complete the OnSNMP installation.

To run inssnmp:

  1. Start a Command Prompt session.
  2. Go to %INFORMIXDIR%\bin.
  3. Enter the following command: inssnmp
Tip: If you install a Windows service pack on your computer before you install the Microsoft SNMP Extendible master agent, you might need to reinstall the service pack.
