Virtual system pattern modification and creation
You can modify the Informix® pattern or you can create a new virtual system pattern.
You can use the virtual system pattern editor to alter the topology and configuration of your virtual environment, or to create a new topology from a virtual image and other virtual system pattern components. You can use the pattern editor to easily drag-and-drop components into and out of a virtual system pattern to create virtual system instances that are customized to your specific needs.
- Multiple virtual image parts
- Script packages to customize the behavior of the parts
- Add-ons to customize virtual-machine configuration, and fine-tune your virtual operating system
You can set, lock, or set and lock part properties while you are editing the virtual system pattern that contains them. If part properties are not set during the pattern-editing process for a virtual system pattern, the user who is deploying the virtual system pattern is prompted set the undefined property values. If you are using script packages or add-ons with parameters, you can use the deployer's pattern editor to configure the parameters.
