Adding script packages
You can add the script packages that are included with IBM® Informix® Enterprise Hypervisor Edition to a part in a virtual system pattern.
The Customized Sample Instance and Demonstration Instance script-packages must be in your deployer's catalog before you can add them to a virtual system pattern.
Refer to your
deployer's information center for detailed instructions on importing
script packages:
- PureApplication® System: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/psappsys/v1r0m0/index.jsp
- IBM Workload Deployer: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/worlodep/v3r1m0/index.jsp
Important: When you import a script package,
you must specify the compressed script package bundle, upload the
bundle, and specify the executable file setup.sh.
Other items in the script package are optional.
The script packages that are included with the IBM Informix Enterprise Hypervisor Edition create
a database instance on the virtual machine during pattern deployment.
You can create your own script package to create and configure an Informix instance.
To add a script package:
- In your deployer, create a virtual system pattern or select the Informix pattern.
- Start editing mode for the pattern.
- In the Scripts section of the catalog, drag the script package for the database you want to create onto the Informix Server part. Parts in a virtual system pattern can contain multiple script packages, so you can include both the customized sample instance and demonstration instance script packages in your virtual system pattern parts.
- End editing mode for the pattern.
- Deploy the pattern.
You can also modify script packages or create your own, and
then import the new script packages into to your deployer's catalog.
Refer to your deployer's information center for information about
editing and creating script packages.
